With summer travel season quickly approaching, it’s time to plan your next escape—whether it’s a girls’ trip, family vacation, or romantic getaway. When booking your next flight, you might want to use TripAdvisor’s World’s Best Airlines list as a reference. The travel site announced the winning airlines of its Traveler’s Choice awards, which was based on an algorithm that looked into airline reviews and ratings by travelers worldwide over a 12-month period on TripAdvisor Flights.

Many Asian carriers made the top 10—Singapore Airlines was number one, while Japan Airlines, EVA Air, and Korean Air appeared on the list. Southwest Airlines was the only American carrier to make the list, coming in at number six. Take a look at the top 10 below and see the other results here.

  1. Singapore Airlines (Singapore)
  2. Air New Zealand (New Zealand)
  3. Emirates (United Arab Emirates)
  4. Japan Airlines (Japan)
  5. EVA Air (Taiwan)
  6. Southwest Airlines (United States)
  7. (United Kingdom)
  8. Qatar Airways (Qatar)
  9. Azul (Brazil)
  10. Korean Air (South Korea)

TripAdvisor also looked at the best airlines in North America. Southwest Airlines came in as the best, followed by winners Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, and WestJet. JetBlue was awarded Best Business Class, while Southwest won Best Economy.

“As the airline industry introduces new fare products and a widening array of in-flight offerings, consumers continue to seek out the carriers that deliver value and a quality experience,” Bryan Saltzburg, senior vice president and general manager for TripAdvisor Flights, said in a press release. “The Travelers' Choice awards for airlines recognize the carriers that exceed passenger expectations and receive top marks from travelers.”
