This Memorial Day weekend, Airbnb will send two lucky winners to the legendary chef's Provencal cottage.
Julia Child's house in Provence, La Pitchoune

Foodies rejoiced back in February, when Airbnb announced that Julia Child’s adorable cottage in the French countryside, La Pitchoune, would be available to rent. But with a price tag of nearly $600 a night, the fantasy of cooking in the footsteps of the legendary chef (and her illustrious guests like James Beard and MFK Fisher) has seemed about as achievable for most of us as perfecting her infamous lobster thermidor.

But hang onto your whisks: there’s breaking news. Now Airbnb is offering to host two travelers on May 29, free of charge—and yes, that includes travel from anywhere to and from Nice, France, and all local arrangements. Also on the menu: foraging for herbs in the property’s terraced gardens, shopping the local farmers’ markets, and of course… “sipping wine as the bacon sizzles and the stock simmers.”

All you have to do? Head to the Airbnb contest link before May 22, channel your inner Ms. Child, and do your best to answer this one simple question: “How would you make the most of your time living like a chef in Provence?” (Hint: Try your darndest to “surprise and delight” them.) Then sit back and cross your fingers. The winners will be announced on May 24.

Til then, as Julia would say, bon chance and bon appetit!
