How Americans Really Feel About Working on Vacation
Urgent situations or not, 91% of Americans noted that they checked their work email during their vacation time, with 37% saying it’s an everyday habit they don’t even consider “work.”
Americans still get less paid time off than the rest of the countries polled (18 vs. an average of 24), which 76% feel is unfair. And they’d be willing to put their money where their mouths are: 21% of U.S. citizens polled say they’d take a pay cut in order to get more vacation time, valuing each extra day at $350 they’d be willing to have slashed from their salary.
