Exactly one week after Kensington Palace’s news of a royal baby for Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, comedian Amy Schumer came through with a pregnancy announcement of her own.

The I Feel Pretty star surprised fans and the internet in its entirety when Schumer’s close friend, Jessica Yellin of News Not Noise, posted an Instagram story outlining a list of Amy’s recommended congressional candidates.

“So I’m not in the business of making voting recommendations, but these are the recommendations of Amy Schumer, one of the most consistent and earliest supporters of News Not Noise,” read Yellin’s post. “Now read all the way to the bottom, you’ll see there’s some news down there. Congratulations, Amy.”

At at the of the list simply read the words, “I’m pregnant-Amy Schumer.” To further allude to the news, the actress posted a spoof image of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to her Instagram page, with her and husband Chris Fischer’s faces photoshopped over the royal parents-to-be. In a comedic statement to the Los Angeles Times, Schumer poked fun at the news, stating, “Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father. I look forward to competing with [Meghan] Markle every step of the way.”

While the comedian’s official statement was obviously meant for laughs, we're looking forward to the next six months of Meghan Markle's pregnancy looks and Amy Schumer's inevitable comedic comparisons.
