Here’s How You Can Watch Free Disney Movies All Weekend
Grab a bowl of popcorn and settle in for some no-cost viewing.
Gather the kids and grandparents, the dogs and the cats, microwave up a big batch of popcorn, and get ready for a weekend-long binge of your favorite Disney movies—all for free. The 24/7 on-demand service Disney Family Movies is offering a sneak preview week through Monday, January 15. That’s right, you can spend the next few days watching a nonstop lineup of your favorite animated and live-action flicks for less than the cost of… well, anything!
To access the free preview, go to the On Demand menu on your TV, search for Premium Subscriptions, and then find Disney Family Movies. Here’s a list of providers and their toll-free numbers, in case you need help.
In addition to movies your kids have probably already watched a few hundred times, like Cars and Ratatouille, there are old-school faves on offer, such as the original 1961 Parent Trap (with Hayley Mills as long-lost twins who meet at summer camp and swap lives) and Muppet Treasure Island (in which Kermit and the gang go on pirate adventures long before anyone ever heard of Captain Jack Sparrow). There are also some curios you might not want to pay full price for, but will be willing to check out for free, such as the 1993 musical Swing Kids, in which pre-stardom Christian Bale plays one of a group of handsome teens in Nazi Germany who rebel by listening to American swing music.
Caveat: When the calendar flips to Tuesday, the free preview is gone, and once your kids discover this channel, they may beg you to subscribe. So watch at your own risk!
