It's customized based on the size of your bird.

Assuming you’ve nailed down your menu and prepped at least a little bit in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, the holiday itself should be more fun than stressful. We suggest getting the turkey in the oven as early in the day as possible, so you can make the gravy and work on the side dishes as it roasts. To keep you entertained as you chop, baste, and sauté, Spotify has created a musical Turkey Timer.

The new feature is simple: Select whether your bird is stuffed or unstuffed, enter how much it weighs, choose a genre of music, then enjoy a Spotify playlist designed to play for the length of time your turkey is roasting. The best part? Spotify’s roasting time recommendations line up with our USDA-recommended turkey timing chart—so we know your bird will be perfectly cooked.

Let’s say, for example, that you’re cooking an unstuffed 13-pound bird. The turkey will need to roast for 3 to 3 3/4 hours in a 325-degree oven, which means your playlist will last for that amount of time. Choose between Americana, Family Time (songs that will please all generations), Feeling Thankful, Club Kitchen (get ready to dance), Freshly Baked (at the top of the charts), and Golden Oldies.
