Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) himself introduces the teaser trailer for season two, which you can watch below. In the minute-long clip we see the Baudelaire siblings in a number of different tricky scenarios—dealing with people with pitchforks in the countryside and coming face-to-face with Count Olaf in a penthouse apartment. Olaf says menacingly in the trailer, “Does this seem like a nightmare? Because that’s the effect I was going for.”

For those who haven’t read the children’s series by Lemony Snicket, or haven’t watched the first season, A Series of Unfortunate Events follows the Baudelaire siblings (Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) who have become orphans after their parents die in a mysterious fire. They are sent to live with Count Olaf, who wants to steal their inheritance. After running away from him, they are sent to live with other relatives throughout the first season with Count Olaf following them each time.
