“A classic tale of romantic suspense”: What’s not to like? Yes, Rebecca won our book club poll this month, and I can’t wait to dive into this much-loved novel. My name is Terri Schlenger, and I will be your discussion leader for June (this is my second time around; I moderated back in March 2012, too). I am a copy editor for Real Simple, and I’d rather read than do anything else in the world—so I love my job, which entails close reading and editing of all the stories that go into the magazine.
As for reading Rebecca, let’s do it in three parts::
For Friday, June 6: Chapters 1 through 9.
For Friday, June 13: Chapters 10 through 18.
For Friday, June 20: Chapters 19 through 27.
Rebecca has a famous opening line: “Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” And by June 6, we’ll find out why.
