The club picks the rediscovered classic “Embers,” by Sandor Marai.
Our January book was a rather modern take on love gone awry. Now we’re going back to 1942 and Embers, Sandor Marai’s beautifully written tale of two onetime friends, who meet again after 41 years to reminisce about a friendship, a marriage, and a way of life that no longer exists. Deb Curtis, the director of audience development at Time Inc.’s Lifestyle Group Digital, will be our leader, and we’ll hear from her a bit later this week. See you then!
