Netflix series can be good or bad—they can also be hilarious, terrifying, and exhilarating—but they’re almost always addicting. Settling in for a satisfying binge session is its own sort of hobby these days, and many people are always looking for the next Netflix series to binge-watch.

In Netflix’s annual year in review, 2018 on Netflix: To All The Shows and Movies We’ve Loved Before, the streaming site noted the movies, actors, and series that users loved, followed, and watched (sometimes again and again) in 2018. Viewers loved movies such as The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before—and they fell for the actors in these movies even harder. But they also turned to Netflix series with hours-long running times.

Netflix’s The Shows We Fell in Binge with This Year ranks the Netflix original series with the highest average watch time per viewing session in the U.S., meaning the viewers who watched these shows couldn’t turn away. (Only new series, released between January 1 and November 28, 2018, were ranked.) These shows were watched in large chunks of hours-long binging rather than in episode-long sessions (who has that kind of self-control?), with the series that viewers watched for the longest stretches of time at the top.

  1. On My Block
  2. Making a Murderer: Part 2
  3. 13 Reasons Why: Season 2
  4. Last Chance U: INDY
  5. Bodyguard
  6. Fastest Car
  7. The Haunting of Hill House
  8. Anne with an E: Season 2
  9. Insatiable
  10. Orange Is the New Black: Season 6

Sometimes, certain shows—like some foods—are best enjoyed slowly, in bite-sized morsels. And sometimes, they're best enjoyed all at once, in one epic viewing session that leaves no room for heart-thumping cliffhangers and thought-consuming suspense. Apparently these are the latter, which may be a sign they need to go at the top of next year’s Netflix binge-watch list.
