And the color is so different, too.

When we think about Julia Roberts in some of her classic movies (think, Erin Brockovich and Eat Pray Love), her blonde beachy waves come to mind. But for her new role in an upcoming project with Amazon Prime, called Homecoming, Roberts is ditching her signature style for what appears to be a wig in a very different length and color.

Not only was the star seen on set rocking a stylish long bob with thick bangs that's suspected to be a wig, but during the American Film Institute's 46th Lifetime Achievement Gala celebrating George Clooney on Thursday, she appeared onscreen with the short haircut (while holding a hilarious sign). From what we can see from the snap of her on the set of Homecoming and during the gala, the look is a shoulder-grazing lob with blunt-cut bangs and a fresh dark brown color.

And after spotting the fresh style on Roberts, we can now confirm our prediction that baby bangs and bobs will be the hottest hairstyle of the summer. Even if Roberts' fresh look is only temporary, she joins other celebrities, like Mila Kunis and Jenna Dewan, by donning a long bob cut. Some are calling this the "cool girl" style of the summer—and what's not to love about a shorter cut that will actually help keep you cool during the hot summer months?

If you're considering adopting this celebrity-approved style yourself, talk to your stylist before making the cut to find the best look for your face shape—and to make sure that this hairstyle fits your lifestyle. Before your appointment, check out New York City-based hairstylist Siobhan Quinlan's tips. For example, if you work out frequently, keep the cut long enough so you can throw it into a ponytail. Your face shape can also help determine whether or not you should pair your new lob haircut with "French girl bangs." Either way, you can't go wrong with this summer-ready hairstyle.
