Yes, the Oscars were a few weeks ago, but we still can’t get over Jennifer Garner’s reaction during the show that went viral. It was the reaction face that launched a thousand memes, and we are forever grateful for it. The actress was recently on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new film Love, Simon and tried to explain her viral Oscars moment.

If you don’t remember what happened, during the show, the cameras caught the actress looking like she realized something important. Her reaction became an Internet sensation with people taking the clip and adding captions like, “Left oven on at home,” or “Forgot to leave the chicken out to thaw.”

“What am I doing?” Garner said when DeGeneres showed the reaction shot. “I started getting texts, people saying, ‘What were you thinking? What’s happening?’ I try really hard not to see myself online, but she was a little unavoidable.” She told DeGeneres that she still doesn’t know what was going on through her head, “I wish I did. I wish I had a better story about it.”

Garner told DeGeneres that she was embarrassed by the attention she received, “I can’t even look at it, it’s too embarrassing,” she said. The actress said that she “regrets” the face she made and jokingly quipped “I want to just punch her in the face. Not really, I don’t!” Even though she might feel self-conscious about her surprising viral meme, we loved it (and love her for being a good sport!)

Watch the interview below, in which Garner talks about creating another viral moment when she was caught crying and freaking out about the musical Hamilton after a trip to the dentist that involved laughing gas.
