Amy Adams will star in the highly anticipated movie adaption of The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn.

The book follows Dr. Anna Fox, a woman living alone with crippling agoraphobia after a traumatic accident. From the comfort of her lavish New York City apartment, Anna spends her days watching the neighborhood from her window. But when she witnesses a terrible crime in a neighbor’s home, she finds herself unable to distinguish between what is real and what is just paranoia.

The bestselling thriller debuted as No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list (to buy: $16; amazon.com), and remains the biggest-selling adult fiction title this year, according to Variety.

The author made the announcement yesterday on Instagram, where he shared a photo of Amy along with the book.

In the caption, A. J. Finn wrote, “Very happy and proud to announce that five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams — star of Arrival, American Hustle, Enchanted, Nocturnal Animals, DC’s Superman movies, and many others — will be playing Dr. Anna Fox in the film adaptation of #thewomaninthewindow. I’m over the moon.”
