A College Student Recreated Beyoncé’s Coachella Performance on Ellen, and We Can’t Stop Watching It
Beyoncé’s Coachella 2018 performance may have finally met its match.
After Coachella 2018, all anyone was able to talk about was Beyoncé's performance of epic proportions. Every aspect of the two-hour spectacle seemed elevated from reality, from her perfectly dewy skin and intricate outfits to insane dance moves. But if you thought mere mortals could never attain even one of these Beyoncé elements, you haven't met a college student named Briana yet.
Last week, Briana, who goes by Briyonce on Twitter, went viral after sharing her recreation of Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella performance in a side-by-side video. Since she tweeted it out on April, 18, her video has been watched 5.23 million times, retweeted over 95,000 times, and racked up over 380,000 likes on the social media platform.
Briana posted her original video, writing "If you thought I was about to sit here, learn choreo & dance like I'm one of Beyoncé's backup dancer [sic]... YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT."
Naturally, Ellen Degeneres, TV talk show host and professional viral video identifier, had the young woman on her show to wow crowds once again with a flawless recreation of Beyoncé's choreography.
Not only is her spot-on dance impressive (especially as someone watching with two left feet and lanky noodle arms), but Briana also reveals when talking to Degeneres that it only took her 40 minutes to "get all the moves down." After that, she took an hour to perfect the routine "because that's what Beyoncé would do."
