If you have a long list of items sitting in your Amazon cart, today is a great day to finally checkout. As a way of celebrating being voted number one in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Amazon is donating 5 percent of AmazonSmile eligible purchases today. For those who haven’t heard of Amazon’s do-good shopping feature, AmazonSmile is a featured section of the retail site where shoppers can choose to have a portion of the proceeds from their purchases (millions of items are eligible) go to a selected charity.

10,000 customers were surveyed about the perceptions of quality and value for retailers nationwide for the index, and Amazon received the top customer satisfaction spot. Amazon customers can always donate a small portion of their purchases to charity by using, but to say thank you for the ACSI vote, they are donating ten times the standard donation rate (0.5 percent) until 11:59 p.m. (PT) tonight (March 16). Featured charities include charity: water, The Nature Conservancy, Doctors Without Borders, the American Red Cross, or the ASPCA, but you can choose one of one million plus charitable organization using the search tool.
