How to Get Pippa Middleton’s Wedding Day Makeup Look
For the perfect natural wedding glow, follow Pippa’s lead.
Pippa Middleton’s wedding on Saturday to financier James Matthews seemed like sheer perfection. From the rain stopping just before they left the church to Prince George and Princess Charlotte being Pippa’s best (and cutest) helpers, to sister Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, tending to her dress, we loved it all. And though we admired it all, we were probably most excited to see Pippa’s makeup.
As many predicted, Pippa stuck to her usual look—bronzed, fresh skin and glowing cheeks—for her big day. “Pippa was the quintessential English rose bride. Soft, rosy cheeks, velvety skin, and a subtle definition on the eyes and lips. It was a perfect look for her,” said British-born and New York City-based makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes. While we don’t know the exact products that Pippa used, here is what you can use to recreate the look.
Bronzed Skin: Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer
Pippa kept with her signature golden glowing skin and we understand why. We’re sure hoping it’s not from the sun and instead we’re guessing she used something like this bronzer from Benefit. The matte—not shimmer—finish helps it blend right in for the most natural application. Use a big fluffy brush to swipe it all over, including down your neck and shoulders—if they’re exposed.

Peach Cheeks: Too Faced Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush
We’re guessing Pippa was a naturally blushing bride on her wedding day, but this peach powder will give you a similar flush. Use a more dense makeup brush to swirl it right onto the apples of your cheeks. Fake a smile as you apply it so you know right where it should go. Sheer it out as you move away from the center.

Mauve-Nude Lip: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Backtalk
A perfect nude lipstick goes with any makeup look—the key is finding a good one. This one from Urban Decay has just the right touch of pink and won’t wash you out. Instead of smearing it on, use a tapping motion to dab it on. This helps press it into lips for a more natural finish.

Gilded Lids: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze
Where Pippa veered from her usual looked was on the eyes. Instead of her usual black eyeliner, she opted for a softer, bronzed hue. We like a cream formula like this one from Maybelline, which can be built up or sheered out depending on how dramatic you want it to be. We like how Pippa took the color all the way around her eyes like a halo. This also helps make eyes appear bigger—whereas black liner all the way around tends to make eyes look smaller.

Full Eyebrows: NYX Eyebrow Powder Pencil
A good brow frames the face and completes a look. Be sure to use a formula with a matte, powder finish—like this one from NYX—to ensure it doesn’t slip around once you get hot or sweaty. Draw quick, hair-like strokes just where you need it, and then use the spoolie on the other end to brush it through and distribute the color..
