While you can find T-shirts at almost any shop or online store, there are few that hit all the marks. Many are too baggy or too tight. Some are sheer and can't be worn to the office. Others fall apart after a few washes. Finding a high-quality, flattering, and versatile shirt didn't happen until I designed one—and I've worn my custom piece every week for years now.

If you can't find your perfect T-shirt, you can create it with Made for You. I discovered the unique design service while conducting research for my job as a shopping reporter. After struggling to find the best T-shirt that fit in my budget and had all of the features I was looking for, I was delighted to discover this clever option at Amazon.

The feature allowed me to customize a T-shirt and even tailored it to my measurements through a phone-enabled body scan. The top is now the most used item in my wardrobe. And it was just $25.

It sounds almost too good to be true, but the process is simple and the shirt is completely customizable. And if you don't like the final product, you can mail it back with free returns for Prime members (or anyone who signs up for a free 30-day trial). The design feature lets you choose the fabric, color, length, fit, neckline, sleeve length, and label. And once you've crafted the perfect one, you can save your preferences, so it's easy to add more to your closet.

My ideal T-shirt had to be elevated enough to wear to the office, so I opted for the medium weight cotton to ensure it wasn't sheer. The Pima cotton is soft and comfortable, and it's a bit thicker than other T-shirts, which makes it look higher end.

And the relaxed fit I chose wasn't baggy or too loose. It nicely drapes over my figure, which is thanks to the in-app body scan that takes surprisingly accurate measurements. The personalized piece is tailored for my shape—that means your relaxed fit will be different from mine.

Since I'm always cold, I opted for a higher neckline and long sleeves. And I went with white, a classic and basic color, to make it easy to mix and match with much of my wardrobe. The versatile piece is my go-to for everyday wear and travel. I get so much use out of it, so I always throw it in my bag.

I've paired it with workout leggings for running errands, polished skirts and pants for the office, and jeans for brunch with friends and casual hangouts. I've even worn it to the gym during the winter. It's been so handy that I've reached for it at least once a week since I ordered it in 2020, making the cost per wear at about 19 cents per week (and even less if I factor in the weeks that I wore it multiple times).

Given the amount of times I was wearing and washing my original one, I decided to add another white one to my rotation, and I invested in a black one, too. And next, I have my eyes on the new Athletic version, which is made with sweat-wicking, odor-resistant fabric. I have a feeling that it will be my new favorite workout top.

It's certainly not a cheap T-shirt, like the under-$10 styles you'd find at most mass retailers. It's more of an investment piece that's intended to be worn on repeat and last for years. But if you're after something more sustainable, high-quality, and suited to your shape, this $25 gem is it.
