Ribbon Pink, Orange Area Rug, 2.5'x8' Runner

Based on the Guilloch_ engravings used to make money harder to copy, the Ribbon pattern explores variations on interwoven lines. Guilloch_ is a decorative engraving technique of scratching very fine lines into a plate to create a very intricate pattern. We were specifically interested in how it was used on money and looked at the pattern in detail; at the interwoven loops, the cadence and at what happens when two areas overlapped. We then increased the scale dramatiterwoven loops, the cadence and at what happens when two areas overlapped. We then increased the scale dramatically and played with the overlaps. The notNeutral Ribbon rug is available in four sizes (5' x 8', 6' round, 8' round, and a 2.5' x 8' runner) and six colors (sable/white, pink/orange, red/white, blue/white, green/white, and turquoise/white). All notNeutral rugs are hand-tufted in India and GoodWeave-certified. read more
