Why I Absolutely Love the Elf Lip Exfoliator
When I first discovered Elf Cosmetics at Target, I was immediately skeptical; $4 for a makeup brush had to be too good to be true, right? Wrong. My first find was the powder brush, and I still use it three years later (I clean it regularly, though). I love all Elf makeup brushes—they're so soft—but the product that has been a complete game-changer for me is the lip exfoliator.
I struggled with chapped, dry lips on the daily, but after trying the Elf Lip Exfoliator, everything changed. I have the clear version—it was the only one released at the time—and I just rub it on my lips and wipe it away with a damp cotton pad. The exfoliating beads felt a little odd at first, but after a few applications, I didn't notice them. I use it at night before bed and follow up with a lip balm (I love Maybelline Baby Lips) or a lip oil for added moisture. I also use it in the morning if I'm applying makeup to give me a smooth base for my favorite lipsticks, like Kat Von D Everlasting.
If you don't like the sugary taste of the "clear" version, Elf also released several other flavors of this lip exfoliator—and they come with an additional product at no extra charge. The bottom cap pops off to reveal lip balm you can use after exfoliating! At $3 each, I may be trying more than one, but "Grapefruit" is first on my list.
