5 Life-Changing Face Masks

Three women putting on green face masks in the bathroom

A good face mask can turn your skin around. While we may not have the time or money for regular facials, at home face masks can deliver some of the benefits you're seeking with those professional treatments—and you don't have to leave home or break the bank. Below are four effective, easy, satisfying—and dare we say life-changing—face masks you can do in your downtime.

Boscia's Sake Bright White Mask

I love this sake mask. I can't say with certainty if my experience is tainted with placebo effect, but I genuinely think my skin looks brighter the second I'm done using it. The mask takes 25 minutes, and once the gooey iridescent mixture dries, you peel it off to reveal a brighter, fresher complexion.

Multi-Masking With Generation Clay

Technically these are three different masks, but Generation Clay introduced me to the idea of "multi-masking" and I love it. As showcased on the social media savvy brand's Instagram account, customers are encouraged to use the different Australian-clay masks at the same time to target concerns specific to areas of their face. So, for example, I smoothed the black Detoxifying Charcoal Clay Mask over my T-zone for some pore purging, and used the Urban Defense Purifying Pink Clay Mask and Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask on areas of my face I wanted to cleanse and brighten.

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Nightly Re.Pair Mask

Doing a mask while you sleep is efficient—you'd be lying there asleep either way, so why not make those 8 hours even more productive? (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you get a healthy amount of sleep.) Dr. Jart's Cicapair line of products aims to correct redness and repair damaged skin with a range of products to fit your skincare routine. The nightly face mask has a texture similar to a hydrating cream, and the tiger grass formula works to help damaged skin recover and regain a more youthful texture overnight.

Tony Moly's Megatox Moist Shot Ampoule Mask

Tony Moly Hydration Boost Tony Moly is a popular K-beauty brand in the states for its effective and affordable products in sometimes bright and quirky packaging. The Megatox moisture shot is the quickest way I've found to infuse moisture back into your skin, leaving it fuller and softer after just 15 to 20 minutes. The Megatox shot also comes in lifting and brightening variations.

Skyn Iceland's Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels

Skyn Iceland's firming face gels are described as having the "wrinkle-erasing power of a muscle relaxing injection," which definitely sounds like wizardry and would raise a few eyebrows (but don't raise yours because of forehead lines…). They only take 10 minutes out of your night, and they really work to minimize the appearance of fine lines on your face immediately after use (even if temporarily). They're great to use right before a big event or somewhere you're taking pictures, or you can integrate them into your weekly routine for longer term benefits.
