Experience

Samina Ahmed Jauregui completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2017 and has worked at academic medical centers ever since. Much of her clinical work has involved behavioral management of sleep difficulties further complicated by mood, anxiety, or pain difficulties. Essentially teaching others how to improve upon their sleep difficulties without the use of prescribed or over-the-counter sleep aids. Samina is an Assistant Professor at a private medical school teaching graduate students and medical residents and fellows. Samina has also dedicated her time in disseminating education about sleep health and anxiety via online health seminars. Samina has spoken at over a dozen invited lectures and medical grand rounds along with several research presentations at regional and national scientific conferences on the topics of sleep and health psychology. She also serves as a consultant to other mental health professionals and corporations.

Education

Dr. Ahmed has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from DePaul University and obtained her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. She went on to complete a health psychology internship at the Miami VA Medical Center in Miami, Florida and post-doctoral fellowship with a specialty focus in behavioral sleep medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She currently practices as a clinical health psychologist at a medical institution with emphasis on sleep disorders and biofeedback.
