Photo: Olaplex Anyone who knows anything about hair has probably heard of Olaxplex, the famous bond-building company known for its hair-repairing products. While the brand has previously consisted of various shampoos and treatments (most recently, its purple toning shampoo), it hadn’t crossed over into dry shampoo territory before. That’s what makes its newest launch so exciting. Olaplex just launched its first ever No. 4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo. Like the brand's other products, this dry shampoo features their patented Bond Building Technology designed to help repair and restore damaged strands by relinking broken disulfide bonds. Why dry shampoo itself is nothing new, a dry shampoo with bond-building properties is a pretty big deal (who says lazy can’t be productive?). In addition to the brand’s famous, proprietary technology, the product includes rambutan seed extract and ultra-fine rice starch, which absorbs oil, odor, and sweat to keep your hair looking fresh in between washes. Rambutan seed extract is also packed with antioxidants, so it has scalp-soothing and odor-neutralizing benefits. If you’ve heard of the benzene drama swirling around in dry shampoo lately, you don’t need to worry about that either. With countless dry shampoo recalls due to benzene, Olaplex formulated its product with zero traces of benzene to be found. Naturally, the dry shampoo is safe for color-treated hair with its paraben-free formula. It’s great for fine, thick, and medium hair textures and can be used on wavy, straight, curly, and coily hair (i.e. pretty much everyone). And unlike some dry shampoos, the lightweight mist doesn’t weigh down strands (it’s great for adding volume), clog pores, or leave behind any white residue. For best results, the brand recommends separating hair into sections and spraying the No.4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo onto the roots six to 10 inches away from the hair. After waiting about 30 seconds (this part is important!), massage it into the roots. If you’re looking to clean your hair without showering and want to repair your strands while you’re at it, you can snag a bottle at Sephora, Kohl’s, or Olaplex.com for $30. Was this page helpful?
