6 Bloggers’ All-Time Favorite DIY Projects

In honor of #NationalWeekofMaking, some project inspiration from those who do it best.

Shiplap Wainscoting, by Bridget and Casey of DIY Playbook

“We love DIY shiplap, because it can add some serious character and charm to just about any space, yet doesn't have to cost a lot of money. We installed this shiplap in the bathroom for under $100! We love the new look because of the texture it adds to the space, but also love the contrast the white shiplap brings to the dark paint on the walls and vanity. We were so inspired by the ease, cost, and overall look of the finished product that we decided to add shiplap to another room in the house! You can never have enough shiplap, right?”

"I love these crisscross planters that I made for my rear courtyard. By building them myself, I was able to customize the size and color of the planters to complement my home. The lemon trees that live in them are still happy four years later!"

“This house bed is my absolute favorite project to date. It has become one of the most versatile pieces of furniture I have built and helps fuel the imaginative playtime for my boys. It functions as a bed, daybed, playhouse, and lounge and is such a simple build that anyone can do it, with no prior building experience required.”
