12 Home Decor Finds Featuring the 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year

Here's how to bring these trending colors into your home.

For the first time, the Pantone Color Institute has named not one, but two colors of the year for 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The soft pink and pale blue hues were chosen for their tranquil and welcoming qualities—just what many of us are searching for in our modern, stress-filled lives. “With the whole greater than its individual parts, joined together Serenity and Rose Quartz demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, said in a statement.

The colors were also chosen as a response to cultural shifts in traditional color perception—for example, the notion that blue is for boys and pink is for girls. “This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumers’ increased comfort with using color as a form of expression which includes a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged,” Eiseman said.

If you’re a fan of both colors, we’ve rounded up some decor finds to accent your home in the coming year.
