These Are the Top Home Trends for Fall, According to Etsy
This fall, expect to see both nostalgic and modern, bold looks take center stage at home. Etsy just released it’s 2017 Fall Home Decor Trend Guide and there are stylish details and ideas for everyone. The guide is based on the top searches within the Home & Living category on Etsy.com over the past eight weeks.
One of the trends is old-school glassware—think your grandma’s Pyrex. “People are spending more and more time in their homes and creating picture-perfect cozy environments, so there’s no surprise that hints of past decades are making a comeback,” Etsy's trend expert, Dayna Isom Johnson, told Real Simple. “Think back, and channel the ‘old days’ when family and friends enjoyed each other’s company around the dinner table or kicked back in the living room. There’s something simple and comforting about this approach and there’s no better time to try them out in your space.”
Take a look at the top trends below and see where to shop to recreate the look in your own home.
Vintage dishes and colorful glasses will complete your fall table. Etsy says that searches for vintage Pyrex, textured Depression glass, opaque milk glass, and shimmering carnival glass are at an all-time high. That’s no surprise to us, since there were reports that some vintage Pyrex pieces could be worth thousands.

If you’re thinking of going bold at home, put the paint brush down and pick up a roll of some patterned wallpaper. “Removable wallpaper” is one of the top searched items in the Home & Living category on Etsy. Whether you want to use it for a whole room or just an accent wall, with removable wallpaper you don’t have to commit long-term if you get tired of the print in a few months or years.

It’s not just for churches or historical buildings anymore. Stained glass is appearing on home accents like wall art and jewelry or desk organizers. These are especially pretty in bright, sunny spaces to see how the light plays with the colors.

Wreaths are getting a modern update in new shapes or slightly asymmetrical arrangements. While the traditional evergreen wreath is still a classic, why not opt for a unique door accent this year?

Bonus Trend: Wabi-Sabi
Thinking beyond fall and into 2018, Etsy predicts that the Japanese aesthetic wabi-sabi will be a big trend in decor in the new year. It’s a worldview that embraces impermanence and imperfection—think hand-built ceramics, wrinkled sheets, or wood with uneven grains.
