Shopping at IKEA is getting easier, not to mention more affordable and popular, every year.

IKEA is increasingly becoming a go-to shopping destination, online and in-person, for people of every budget and background looking for affordable, on-trend home goods and furniture to fill their homes with. In fact, IKEA is even beginning to set some design trends—just flip through the pages of the IKEA catalog 2019 to get an idea of what home design trends will be big in the new year.

This home goods store is launching new lines of artisan collections, eye-popping furnishings, and top-notch organizers, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. IKEA is even, somehow, becoming more and more popular among its fans—IKEA was the top search term in the Home & Garden category on Google in 2018. (IKEA claims to have had 2.5 billion web visits and 957 million store visits between September 2017 and August 2018.) Google searchers across the globe searched for IKEA more than any other home and garden store; it even beat out Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon for the honor.

Based on this data from Google Trends, plenty of internet users are looking to shop for furniture at IKEA, and they’re using the top search engine to find the website or the nearest IKEA store. Once that’s accomplished, though, actually finding the right furniture or décor among IKEA’s thousands of options is a little daunting.

The yellow-and-blue megastore (which even has its own credit card) is always releasing new collections and collaborations, but some of its tried-and-true classics are still trustworthy additions to any home. (IKEA, like any company, does issue occasional recalls—be sure to pay attention to any updates to ensure every item in the home is safe and securely installed.)

To make shopping at IKEA a little less stressful—and, hopefully, to ward off any of those infamous, relationship-straining IKEA fights—check out our picks before diving into all the home goods store has to offer.
