How to Upgrade Your Guest Room for the Holidays

Try these smart ideas to help your houseguests feel right at home.

If you're dusting off your guest room for the first time in a while, you might want to make a few upgrades to help make it warm and welcoming for people who visit. Simply host Haley Cairo has a few ideas to help you wow your guests with a few strategic new touches.

Start by making sure that your bed and bedding are as cozy as possible. Haley opted to replace the duvet cover and add comfy touches like a plaid throw and a fuzzy bolster pillow to make the room feel warmer. Small additions, like a carafe of water on the nightstand, a few snacks, and toiletries (in case they left things behind), and a robe and slippers help your guest room feel more like a luxury hotel stay. And don't forget that you can extend your holiday decor to your guest room, too, by adding in garlands and holiday-themed pillows that add a little festivity to the space.
