It takes just 45 seconds to heat up, so you can get rid of creases and wrinkles in a snap.

Laundry day is something I’ve always dreaded. I have no issues with other chores like vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom, but for some reason I will continue to put off doing laundry until I literally run out of stuff to wear. It probably has to do with the fact that there’s no washer or dryer in my apartment, so I have to lug everything to either a laundromat or my sister’s house, and by the time I get home my freshly cleaned wardrobe has become a wrinkled mess.

After spending a few hours washing and drying all my clothes, the last thing I want to do is spend more time dewrinkling them. I find that ironing my wardrobe takes too long because I constantly have to switch between different heat settings for different fabrics. And while steaming definitely de-wrinkles my clothes faster, my portable steamer runs out of water very quickly and I have to refill it quite often. But thankfully my hatred for laundry day has finally subsided, thanks to my new favorite household appliance: the Rowenta QR1010 IXEO All in One Iron Steamer Solution.

This handy product combines a traditional iron, a steamer, and an ironing board into one convenient device. Not only does the iron/steamer attachment heat up in just 45 seconds, but the ironing board can be adjusted into three different ergonomic positions: flat for ironing, vertical for steaming, and an angled position that works for both. The end of the ironing board also has a handy hook, which you can hang a hanger from.

What’s more? The turbo steam function kills 99.9 percent of odor-causing bacteria, so your clothes will stay smelling fresh. Plus, the appliance only has one universal heat setting that works on all fabric types, which means you’ll never have to worry about burning or leaving iron streaks on your clothes again.

When the garment care system first arrived at my apartment, the box was so large and there were so many pieces inside I felt a little overwhelmed at first. But the appliance was actually pretty easy to assemble and only took me about 20 minutes to put together. Once I had it all set up, I started to work on my large pile of clean clothes. Without having to change heat settings or constantly refill the water tank (it can hold up to 33 ounces at a time), I was able to de-wrinkle all my clothes in about half the time it would normally take me.

According to customer reviews, I’m not the only one who is obsessed with the all-in-one system. “Let me start off by saying that I hate ironing. But if there's one thing I hate more than ironing, it's paying for dry cleaning. Thankfully, I think I found a solid, long term solution with this product,” raved one Amazon customer. “It couldn't be easier to use. The steamer works very well. I typically try to buy dress shirts advertised as wrinkle free with no ironing necessary, but I find that there are still smaller, fine wrinkles on it when I'm doing the washing. The steamer function takes care of that really efficiently; I just lock the board into the diagonal position (you can have it be flat, upright, or angled) and steam it out.”

The iron steamer solution is available on Amazon in white/silver and black/gold colorways, both of which will both look good in any home. As much as I love the device, I have one caveat: It does take up a lot of room. So if you live in a small space, it might not be right for you. But if you have a laundry room (or a small nook like I do) to house it in, I would recommend giving it a try. At $250 it is definitely an investment, but the fact that I no longer dread laundry day because of it, makes the appliance well worth the price.
