Reese Witherspoon is feeling exceptionally thankful this year. In a Q&A featured on her brand’s blog, the producer, actress and Draper James founder talked about two holiday essentials: family and, of course, food.
“My grandmother Dorothea used to make this AMAZING potatoes au gratin,” Witherspoon said in the Draper James blog post. “It’s my favorite dish every year, and it makes me think of her." Dorothea Draper, who inspired Witherspoon’s Southern-style fashion line, would have been 100 years old this month. In the past, Witherspoon has detailed the Thanksgiving feasts she grew up on. “My grandmother always made a big Thanksgiving,” she wrote in a previous post. “She made sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, turkey with bacon on top, and collard greens that cooked for eight hours. She served it all on her beautiful red Transferware china that she passed on to me.”
In her latest Q&A, Witherspoon also shared what she is most thankful for this year.
“I have SO much to be thankful for this year,” she said. “My family is healthy and happy; my children are thriving and growing into amazing young people. I’ve been fortunate enough to continue to work and a have a career that I’m passionate about, and I have a loving and supportive husband standing by my side.”
