Woman tasting wine

A tasting is best suited for an intimate evening gathering―say, about six people. As your guests sample the wines and nibble on hors d'oeuvres (see Prepare Snacks), share background information on each vintage, such as which grapes were used or the history of the winery (your local wine merchant can fill you in). After the tasting, encourage the group to revisit and savor their favorites.
