The online retailer officially kicked off their holiday shopping season.
Now that Halloween is over, you might be alarmed to know that, yes, today is November 1, and yes, there are now only seven weeks until Christmas. For most people, this means it’s time to start thinking about holiday shopping to avoid the last-minute rush. And Amazon wants to help you out: the online retailer opened their Black Friday deals store today, rewarding early bird holiday shoppers.
For the next 50 days, Amazon will offer all customers—not just those with a Prime membership—deals across all categories at amazon.com/blackfriday. Today, the deal kicks off with 30 percent off holiday toy favorites, 50 percent off a Dyson vacuum, discounts on HDTVs, as well as slashed prices on home accessories, appliances, and technology. According to a press release from the retailer, customers can expect upcoming deals from brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, Lego, Melissa and Doug, Nerf, Paw Patrol, and Star Wars among others.
The company also touted its free shipping for all customers on over one hundred million items with an eligible purchase of $25 or more. Back in May, Amazon lowered their free ship minimum by $10, down from $35, in order to compete with Walmart, who announced they would offer free two-day shipping to all customers on orders over $35. Today, Walmart also announced early holiday deals, including a discount on Fur Real's Roaring Tyler, a KitchenAid mixer for $200, and a 55-inch LEDTV for more than $1,000 off.
