This "Smart" Toothbrush Shows You Exactly How You’re Brushing Your Teeth—And It’s 20% Off Right Now on Amazon
If you’ve been meaning to upgrade your electric toothbrush, this deal is too good to pass up.
When it comes to shopping for a new electric toothbrush, the options can seem endless. But imagine a toothbrush that actually makes brushing fun? (Yes, I just went there.) I recently upgraded my old Sonicare toothbrush for the brand’s newest launch—the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9300 Series—and it’s a game-changer.
While there are dozens of brands and models of electric toothbrushes to choose from, my dentist suggested long ago that investing in a Sonicare toothbrush would really help reduce my plaque between visits, so that’s what I’ve always used since.
One of my favorite things about Sonicare’s new DiamondClean Smart toothbrush is that it uses Bluetooth technology to sync to Philips Sonicare’s corresponding smartphone app, giving you real-time feedback and personalized coaching on how to best brush your teeth for the most effective cleaning each time. Believe it or not, there’s technology in each of the “smart” brush heads that automatically selects the optimal brushing mode and intensity level. Within the app, you can track monthly brushing progress, the pressure you use, and how much scrubbing you’re doing (you shouldn't be doing much with an electric toothbrush). While you’re brushing, the end of the brush will light up if you’re applying too much pressure to your teeth or if you’re scrubbing too hard—pretty genius, right? And if you’re tired of never remembering when to replace your brush head, the app will remind you when you need to change it, too.
Each of the four brushing modes—Clean, White+, Gum Health, and DeepClean+—all have different brushing times, but the app gives you what looks like a map of your teeth, so you can see how many seconds each section of your mouth needs. On the map, you can even set “target” areas to focus on in case you’re prone to more plaque in certain areas. Within the “goals” section of the app, you can choose to complete tasks such as the “fresh breath goal” or the “plaque removal goal,” and the app will recommended different frequencies for different tasks like flossing, tongue cleaning, or using mouthwash. And if you’re traveling, you don’t have to worry about hauling your Sonicare charger with you. The DiamondClean smart brush comes with a handle travel case that also acts as a charger.

While I can’t completely back up the claim that the DiamondClean Smart removes up to 100 percent more stains in just three days, I do feel like my teeth are staying whiter longer and feeling fresher at the end of brushing—it really does help to watch the map of your mouth to make sure you’re reaching those hard-to-get-areas! With a built-in location sensor, the app shows you what areas you’re missing while brushing in real time.
What’s even better about this new toothbrush is that right now on Amazon, you can buy the Sonicare DiamondClean Smart brush for 20 percent off—it’s normally $230! It comes in five different color combinations and includes a charging glass, too. But if you’re looking for a new toothbrush that’s a little simpler and doesn’t have Bluetooth capability, the Sonicare DiamondClean Classic (featured below) is 50 percent off right now. With sales this good, it’s hard not to upgrade your toothbrush!
