When you’re living a life that turns quite fast, sometimes the ordinary things can be a great chance to calm down and breathe.
Misty Copeland, the fiercest ballerina we know, continues to inspire us. She's currently starring as Odette in Swan Lake on a world tour with American Ballet Theater (she's the company's first ever African-American principal dancer in its 75-year history). She'll also star in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms come November. And, she's partnering with Naked Juice company to launch their new fruit-veggie-and-nut bars.
This week, we caught up with Copeland at the launch event for the bars and asked how she de-stresses. Turns out, Copeland, who released her own health and fitness book Ballerina Body last year, has a surprising secret. She heads to the grocery store—yes, the grocery store!—to relax, a tactic her hubs, attorney Olu Evans, totally supports.
“I’m so happy when I’m in the kitchen and my husband knows that,” she told RealSimple.com. “When I’m having a bad day, he’s like ‘Let’s get some groceries!’ and I‘m like, “Yeah! You’re right!”
