According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest’s 2017 Xtreme Eating Awards, these are the seven most outrageous, calorie-laden dishes on chain restaurant menus.
Buffalo Wild Wings Cheese Curd Bacon Burger With Fries
A full serving of battered, deep-fried cheese curds are a stomach ache on their own, let alone piled onto a burger with cheese, bacon, and mayo-heavy “cool heat sauce.” Don't forget the side of fries! CSPI gave this burger the award “Worst Cheese in a Leading Role.” It clocks in at 1,950 calories, 53 grams of fat, and 4,700 mg of sodium.
Chili’s Ultimate Smokehouse Combo
The CSPI awarded this platter “Worst Visceral Effects.” It’s comprised of three meats of your choice (smoked BBQ chicken breast, jalapeno-cheddar smoked sausage, Chicken Crispers, or half rack of smoked baby back ribs), plus roasted street corn, homestyle fries, chile-garlic toast, and garlic dill pickles. It packs 2,440 calories, 41 grams saturated fat, and 7,610 mg of sodium.
IHOP Cheeseburger Omelette With Pancakes, Butter, and Syrup
This meal was named “Least Original Breakfast.” It’s basically an omelette filled with hamburger patty pieces, hash browns, tomatoes, onions, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, and pickles. But it doesn’t stop there. The dish comes with a side of three buttermilk pancakes—butter and syrup included, of course. The meal adds up to 1,990 calories, 45 grams saturated fat, 4,580 mg sodium, and 1,005 mg of cholesterol.
Cheesecake Factory Pasta Napoletana
This mile-high dish was created as part of a challenge to turn a meat lover’s pizza into a pasta. Noodles tossed in butter and cream are topped with Italian sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, and bacon. It was named “Worst Adapted Pasta." It will set you back 2,310 calories, 29 grams saturated fat, and 4,370 mg sodium.
Dave & Buster’s Carnivore Pizzadilla
This monstrosity wins “Worst Original Appetizer.” The 12” quesadilla is stuffed with Manchego, cheddar, pepperoni, and Italian sausage, then topped with more pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, marinara, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Why can't we leave pizza and quesadillas alone? The whole thing adds up to 1,970 calories, 67 grams of saturated fat, and 4,440 mg sodium.
Texas Roadhouse 16 oz. Prime Rib, Loaded Sweet Potato, Caesar Salad
Yes, this massive meal comes with a loaded sweet potato (filed with mini marshmallows and caramel sauce) and a dressing-heavy Caesar salad. But it also includes all-you-can-eat peanuts, dinner rolls, and butter. It wins “Most Damage from a Supporting Vegetable.” It's a whopping 2,820 calories, 72 grams saturated fat, and 5,550 mg sodium.
The Cheesecake Factory Flying Gorilla
This isn’t as much a cocktail as it is a dessert. The concoction is basically a giant chocolate banana milkshake with dark chocolate and banana liquors. It wins “Worst Cocktail Design.” Just one shake is 950 calories, with 26 grams saturated fat and an estimated 60 grams of added sugar.
