If you love the smooth flavors of cold brew coffee but are sick of paying $5 for one at the coffee shop, rejoice: soon you’ll be able to brew yourself a barista-quality cup at home with The Arctic Cold Brew Coffee System.

ICOSA Brewhouse launched fundraising for The Arctic on Kickstarter in November 2016 hoping to raise $15,000, and in only 44 days they secured $613,387 in pledged funding from more than 8,000 backers. Although there are other cold brewers on the market, The Arctic set out to wow coffee lovers with its sleek design and simplicity, and impress they did. Only 3% of Kickstarter projects have raised over $100,000, making The Arctic one of the most-successful campaigns on the site.

While the thought of making cold brew at home can be daunting, The Arctic makes it incredibly easy. All you do is add your favorite ground coffee to the stainless steel filter, add water to the pitcher, and leave the brewer in the fridge overnight. There are no disposable filters necessary and all of The Arctic’s parts are easily washable, making it gentle on both the environment and your wallet.

The cold brew can be enjoyed plain or used as a base for a variety of drinks, including iced lattes, hot coffee drinks, or in coffee-infused shakes. One batch will stay fresh in the fridge for up to two weeks, so you can make a pot on the weekend and grab it on the go during the week.

The Arctic is set to go on sale later this year, and will retail for $89. Until then, try making cold brew the old-fashioned way or enjoy a hot cup of joe from one of our favorite coffeemakers.
