Starbucks has been on a roll with its summer brews, from the Serious Strawberry Frappuccino to the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, so we couldn't wait to try the two new Starbucks drinks that dropped this week: the Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew and Iced Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Latte. Spoiler alert: We were pretty impressed.

Though the Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew is a mouthful to say to your barista, you'll be happy you made the effort. This drink starts off with Starbucks’ signature cold brew over ice, mixed with a bit of caramel syrup, and topped with the new Salted Cream Cold Foam. The Cold Foam melts right into the cold brew, but a little bit is left at the top so you can see the beautiful bubbles. We loved the subtle saltiness of the cold foam, and appreciated that this drink was barely sweet. You could order this at any time of day and be very happy with your choice.

When it came to the Iced Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Latte, we were nervous it was going to be a bit too sweet for us, given that it has both vanilla bean powder and (naturally sweet) coconut milk, but we were pleasantly surprised. Though it did need to be mixed up and shaken quite a bit in order to combine the espresso shots that were layered on top of the vanilla bean powder and coconut milk mixture, once it was incorporated, we thought it tasted like a delicious melted coffee milkshake. Because this drink uses Starbucks Blonde Espresso, it is silky and smooth, without being bitter at all. Even though it isn’t too sweet, it is definitely sweet—the perfect treat to turn to when your afternoon candy craving hits.

According to Starbucks, all of their new cold foam drinks should be served with strawless lids, so that the foam can be savored with each sip, however ours wasn’t. Given that these drinks launched yesterday, we'll let it slide. Hopefully the next time we order a Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew (which will be very soon!), we will get to try out one of Starbucks’ new lids, which are part of their promise to go strawless by 2020.
