Sonic Debuted Its New Pickle Juice Slush–We’re Not Sure What to Think
Sonic's new Pickle Juice Slush flavor has some people scratching their heads.
Sonic Drive-In debuted its brand new Pickle Juice Slush today, June 11, and the drink has already stirred up a lot of emotions on social media.
While the drink was first announced in March, today is the first day the public can actually sample Sonic's pickled Snow Cone Slush.
“Sonic’s guests are game to try adventurous and fun flavors, so we’ve made it our mission to deliver the best of both worlds when it comes to innovation and variety,” Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic, told ABC affiliate WXYZ Detroit. “The entire Snow Cone Slush lineup–including Pickle Juice, Bahama Mama, Blue Hawaiian and Tiger’s Blood—has a distinctly summertime vibe, allowing our guests to create new summer memories.”
A lot of people on social media have been noting the timing of the Pickle Juice Slush coincides with another popular food chain's unexpected news. One Twitter user wrote, "IHOP makes burgers, Sonic sells pickle slush, up is down, black is white, red means go. Crazy times."
According to local Las Vegas news station KTNV, Sonic has described the flavor of the new Pickle Juice Slush as "sweet but tart," and some people are all for it.
According to WXYZ, Sonic's Pickle Slush will be half off during happy hour, in case you need the added incentive to try it. Even if pickle-flavored slushies aren't your thing, you have to admit it's a pretty big dill–for the internet, at least.
