Can you believe it? Good ol’ Trader Joe’s, the chain of neighborhood grocery stores with high quality products at low and honest prices is turning 50. This weekend they’re celebrating in style by saying thank you to their customers with in-store celebrations. Pop into stores nationwide on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th for special product tastings, giveaways, and much more. We can’t help but wonder what their friendly, fun, and knowledgeable Crew Members have planned for the big day.

Fun fact: Trader Joe’s introduced its first reusable bag to customers 40 years ago. Way before totes were cool #motherearth. A limited-edition 50th Anniversary reusable bag will be sold to customers for just 50 cents. Use it to stock up on all your TJ's faves.

Trader Joe's opened its first store, which still remains open today, in the Los Angeles area in 1967 and since then have expanded to over 450 stores. We know and love Trader Joe’s for their easy-on-the-wallet basics, but also for their innovative and whacky offerings like Avocado Citrus Yogurt and Vegan Mocha Nut Latte. They sure know how to keep us on our toes with new, delicious products. In a press release, Trader Joe’s reiterates their commitment “to making grocery shopping an adventure and offering great values”. As all TJ’s fans know, the love for their products runs deep and we forgive them for the long lines because it’s all so worth it.
