Trader Joe’s Extends Food Recall Over Listeria Concerns
Check your kitchen for these products.
Trader Joe’s announced Monday that they are extending a food recall, due to possible listeria contamination, to include all Trader Joe’s Vegetable Fried Rice (SKU/Barcode 00521482) and Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice (SKU/Barcode 00332514).
Trader Joe’s products are part of a recent recall of more than 350 products, including frozen and prepared foods such as berries and stir fry medleys. So far, eight people in three states have fallen ill from the contaminated food.
Listeria is a dangerous bacteria that can survive in cold temperatures, though high heat kills it. Listeria can cause vomiting, fever, diarrhea, and even death. It’s especially dangerous for children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
If you have any potentially contaminated food products, toss them immediately or return them to the store where purchased.
