Happy (almost) Pi Day! In honor of the March 14 holiday, which is the annual celebration of the mathematical constant π, Instacart has released some interesting data about the other kind of pie—the one you can eat.

More specifically, the grocery delivery platform recently shared a list of the most uniquely popular pies in each state. The intel was compiled using purchase data between February 2021 and January 2022 to determine which pie in each state had the highest share over the national average, and the results were somewhat surprising. For example, while seasonal favorites like apple pie and pecan pie made the cut, they didn't manage to take top honors in the highest number of states across the country. Additionally, lesser known sweets like marionberry pie and banana cream pie were able to eke out a handful of wins in the Northwest and Midwest, respectively.

Given that Instacart sold more than 3.6 million pies last year, there's no better time to take a peek at this pie-focused data. Keep reading to discover which pies were crowned the most uniquely popular desserts across the country!
