Here’s Exactly How to Order Starbucks’ New Pink Ombré Drink
The layered beverage is quickly taking over Instagram.
If you couldn’t contain your excitement when Starbucks’ ‘Pink Drink’ became an official menu item, you’ll want to pay very close attention: there’s a new pink drink in town, and it’s called the Pink Ombré.
According to Starbucks Melody, an unofficial Starbucks blog that covers all the buzzworthy Starbucks news, the drink will become a featured Starbucks drink on Wednesday, May 31. Starbucks, however, has yet to confirm. "We currently have no details to share about this beverage, though we are always looking to bring new and exciting coffee and tea beverages to our customers," a Starbucks spokesperson told RealSimple.com.
In the meantime, ask for a Cool Lime Refresher with coconut milk instead of water, finished with a splash of Iced Passion Tea. For extra Instagram appeal, request a few slices of lime on top. Visually, the concoction is more exciting than the Pink Drink, which is simply a mix of the Strawberry Acai Refresher and coconut milk.
The Pink Ombré was created by Starbucks baristas, who have been posting the creation to their personal Instagram accounts. And we have to say, we’re more supportive of this layered drink than some of Starbucks' previous menu items (ahem, the Unicorn Frappiccuno), which, with its pink powder and blue syrup drizzle, infuriated baristas.

In fact, it seems some locations have fully embraced the new creation, including the Embassy Suites Starbucks in Irvine, CA, and a Starbucks location in Clearwater Beach, FL. But if you prefer making your iced drinks at home, consider making a week's worth of cold brew coffee.
