ALDI and Venmo Give One Million Meals with Just One Emoji
Giving is what Thanksgiving is all about after all.
We all know and love Aldi for their affordable prices and delicious products. But this year, the grocery store is giving us something more to celebrate. They've partnered with Venmo, an app that lets you make payments to friends, and Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, in an effort to provide one million meals to families in need.
To raise the money, Venmo is asking their users to add a custom-designed Friendsgiving emoji to their payment note during the month of November. Every time friends share the Turkey Hand emoji, Aldi will donate ten meals to Feeding America. To include the emoji in transactions, users can select it from the emoji list or type in "Friendsgiving" to autocomplete.
“By creating the first-ever Friendsgiving emoji and teaming up with ALDI, Venmo is happy to help feed hungry families in America while celebrating the season with friends and family," Josh Criscoe, Venmo spokesperson, said in a statement.
