We can't stop staring at the mile-high crumb topping.
Considering the sheer volume of pumpkin spice products currently on the market (and continuing to be released daily), it's rare that we get excited over a pumpkin spice treat. However, there are a few breakfast items that we're willing to make exceptions for—including Auntie Anne's Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Nuggets, and now Panera Bread's Pumpkin Pie Bagel.
When we found out that this bagel existed, we knew we needed to get our hands on one ASAP. Just looking at the massive bagel makes our mouths water. The dough is made with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice, and the cooked bagels are finished with a crumb topping and a cinnamon crunch sugar mixture while they're warm from the oven. Lastly, each one is dusted with powdered sugar. According to the Instagram account junkbanter, the bagel isn't new—we just never knew about it until this year.
Though we wouldn't judge if you wanted to enjoy one daily, the bagels aren't exactly the most nutritious option. Each one has 390 calories, 5 grams of fat, 350mg of sodium, and 26 grams of sugar. We suggest enjoying it as a breakfast treat on the first day of fall, which is just around the corner. Spread it with cream cheese, which will provide a tangy contrast to the super sweet bagel.
