For a limited time, Panera is offering Bacon Mac and Cheese by delivery only.
In May, Panera announced it would be expanding its delivery service nationwide. Now, your favorite soup and salad joint is sweetening the pot even further by adding a new, limited-edition item to its menu: Bacon Mac and Cheese. Yes, as if its bestselling mac and cheese were not enough, Panera went and made it even more decadent by adding crunchy, thick-cut Vermont bacon.
The creamy creation is available by delivery only from now until June 26th—and we defy you to resist it.
How did Panera come up with the concept for this new "craveable indulgence," as the company's CEO, Blaine Hurst, calls it? By popular demand on social media, of course. Apparently, Panera fans have been clamoring for the bacon-and-cheese combo on Twitter and Facebook, and the powers that be decided that the pairing was the perfect way to celebrate its new delivery initiative.
“Mac & Cheese is a classic at Panera—an iconic menu item people continue to celebrate," Hurst said. "We think bacon makes it even better." We tend to agree.
In true Panera style, the brand has made an effort to make this dish as clean as possible: you won't find any artificial flavors, preservatives, flavors, sweeteners, or colors in this dish. But you will find oodles of gooey Vermont cheddar—and 1,100 calories. Just saying.
If you're a MyPanera customer, the news gets even better for you: delivery orders apply to the company's customer loyalty program. And throughout the Bacon Mac and Cheese promotion, Panera will surprise random MyPanera members with
rewards and other goodies.
