We tried using oats in place of bread crumbs for a gluten-free veggie burger, and the results were divine (just be sure to look for oats labeled "gluten-free," as some are processed in facilities that handle wheat). Craving something with a little get-up-and-go? Whip up a caffeine-injected smoothie, packed with rolled oats, a healthy warm-weather breakfast we can definitely get behind. Feeling slightly less adventurous? Cooked pilaf-style, like rice, oats become a hearty base for savory breakfast bowls. We take ours with spinach and eggs but won't tell if you add a couple of slices of crispy bacon.
