This Blogger Created an Epic Trader Joe’s Cheese Board
This is a total holiday game-changer.
A holiday party without a cheese board is like Thanksgiving without turkey. Between the fruit, the nuts, and the multiple types of cheese, there’s enough variety to satisfy every guest (and it makes for an epic Instagram post, to boot). But between the chèvre and charcuterie, even a small spread can wear a hole in your wallet.
Considering our love for Trader Joe’s, we should have known the popular grocery store was the answer to a less expensive but still totally over-the-top cheese board. Stephanie of the blog Olive and Tate assembled one that we can’t wait to re-create.
After spending just five minutes in the store and a few more on the assembly, she was ready for guests. She suggests beginning with red, green, and purple grapes (apples brown too quickly). Then, she fills small bowls with honey, TJ’s Pitted Salted Manzanilla Olives, Roasted and Salted Pecan Halves, and Sweetened Dried Lemon Slices.
Next, she adds the most important component: cheese! Stephanie opts for Chèvre with Honey, Cranberry Chèvre, Slicing Brie, Organic Cheddar, Collier’s Welsh Cheddar, and the 1000 Day Gouda. She finishes the board with Sliced Prosciutto, fresh rosemary sprigs, Cheese Straws, Italian Breadsticks With Olive Oil, and Pistachio Pomegranate Crisps (perfect for the soft cheeses).
In total, Stephanie spent $55 pre-tax. Considering that’s how much we’d spend on the cheese alone at most grocery stores, we think that’s a pretty sweet deal.
