This is from someone's cookbook......not yours.
This recipe has become one of my favorite standbys. I stock up on soba noodles at the Asian market to make sure I always have it on hand for this! I was going to say that cutting the meat into 2-inch pieces really isn't necessary. It'll fall apart when it's cooked, no matter what! I like kittenlogic's idea to put the entire piece of meat in there at once--much simpler!
boyfriend and i LOVED this. i dropped the pork shoulder in whole, along with a couple of country style pork ribs i had left in the freezer to make up the 2.5 lbs. 8 hours on low resulted in meat that was so tender i could barely pick it up to get it out of the crock pot! the sauce was spot on with the barely cooked snow peas and peppers - hot, just a hint of spice, with just enough salt and sweetness to complement the veggies. all of that flavor, and the dish was ridiculously EASY, too. cannot wait to make this again!
Made this with sirloin steak and added garlic; it was great; even kids ate it
