Slow Cooker Apple Spice Cake
Sometimes we make the mistakes so you don’t have to. When we first made these slow cooker cakes we used dish towels that had been washed in some pretty strong detergent (we work in a professional kitchen after all). Instead of apples and spice, the cake tasted like, well, the inside of the washing machine. Try to pick a towel that hasn’t been washed in a super fragrant load but most home detergents won’t cause the cakes any harm. We like this bundt dusted with a light coating of powdered sugar, but it would be equally delicious drizzled with caramel sauce.
