These shortbread nuggets are also a great way to get kids (or less adept adults) to help in the kitchen. Whip up a batch of the dough, then set your assistant to work, breaking off bite-size pieces before baking. Consider these the new break-n-bake.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine flour, butter, sugar, pecans, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl. Using your hands, work butter into dry ingredients until crumbly. Continue to work dough until it comes together when squeezed in your palm.
