Grate the tomatoes on the widest side of a box grater.
Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until golden, about 5 minutes. Stir in the pork, 1 teaspoon salt, and ¾ teaspoon pepper. Cook, stirring, until browned, 3 minutes. Add the tomatoes, Worcestershire, and brown sugar. Simmer, stirring often, until thick, about 12 minutes.
Sandwich the Sloppy Joe mixture and apples between the buns. Serve with the crudités.
Not so great. Too much water in the tomatoes even after cooking down; the buns were a soggy mess.
